What we do

Energies constitute the very foundation of life, whether viewed from a biological, ecological or physical perspective, or through a philosophical and spiritual lens. The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that, in the absence of external energy input, every system naturally tends toward a state of disorder. A living organism, however, actively maintains its internal order, grows and undergoes self-repair. Sustaining these processes requires a continuous supply of energy; otherwise, the body would inevitably succumb to decay.

All life on Earth is dependent upon the energy of the Sun. Through the process of photosynthesis, plants convert solar energy into chemical energy. This very energy then flows through the food chain: from plants to herbivores, and subsequently to carnivores. Were the Sun to cease shining, the entire chain of life would collapse.

In Indian philosophy, “Prana” is regarded as the vital life-force or energy. The disciplines of Yoga and Ayurveda posit that, devoid of this Prana energy, the physical body is nothing more than inert matter, mere dust. Modern science, too, acknowledges that life is essentially the product of organized matter combined with a continuous flow of energy. Simply put: without energy, a cell cannot function, the brain cannot think, and a plant cannot grow. Thus, energy is not merely a fuel source; it is, in essence, the very bedrock of life.

The entire ecosystem of life on Earth is sustained and influenced by two distinct categories of energy: terrestrial energies and celestial energies. This world is constituted by two fundamental elements, the physical and the non-physical, a subject explored within Indian philosophy through the principles of the Vastu system.
